I have been on the road for the past month to help to take care of family issues. While I have so many things I would like to share on creating comics and graphic novels, I am not able to make posts as often as I would like.
I’ve learned to accept that as well. Life is a roller-coaster, and I’m here for the full experience. So, one baby step at a time.
With ongoing graphic novel projects, I have to quickly find ways to make things work while I am traveling.
A few days before my travel abroad, I met up with good friend Eliza Wheeler (follow her on her wonderful Substack Creativi-Tea Time!), and she recommended using Adobe Fresco. I have never used it before, as I thought I needed to pay an additional subscription for it. Turns out, since I already have an Adobe account, I can use it. And it proves to be extremely helpful, especially that it switches seamlessly with Photoshop. It has its limitations (namely, no CMYK), but all in all, I still recommend it if you switch between iPads and desktops/laptops.
Here is the good news! From what I saw on this YouTube video, Adobe Fresco is now completely free! If you use an iPad, I highly recommend you to check it out.
Speaking of YouTube channels, another fun channel I watch at times is Brad Colbow’s channel. I am not tech-savvy, nor do I buy and update gadgets often. But I always find it amusing to know what’s out there.
Until my next post, friends! Happy creating!
Oooo… I’m getting a new iPad soon so these are really helpful tidbits. Thanks, Maple. ☺️
Have you tried the live and vector brushes yet? I still sketch in procreate, but when I know I’m starting on a more complex project, Fresco’s a no brainer.
